The Department of Education of San Bartolomé de Tirajana has designed, within the 'School and Family' project, a broad strategy to raise awareness in the municipality's school community about the importance of sexual education. This initiative is aimed at students, teachers and parents, also involving the health sector.
“We want to better understand what each of our students and their families are experiencing, feeling and wanting at this vital moment. In this way, we will be able to accompany them in the most appropriate way based on the values of each family,” indicated the head of the Area, Clari Martel.
The implementation of the planned activities will begin today, December 29, with the inauguration, at the El Tablero House of Culture, of the exhibition titled 'Tejiendo Redes. Sexual Education and Disability´.
These sessions will last three days, which include training for teachers at the IES Amurga and Faro de Maspalomas. The next day, courses and workshops and initial training will be held for teachers and students of the CEO of Tunte.
There will also be specific training for Early Childhood Education teachers assigned to the municipality's centers, and for teachers from the IES Tamara, an activity that will take place at the San Fernando Cultural Center.
Finally, on December 1, a training and update meeting on sexual education will be organized for the components of the Educational and Psychopedagogical Guidance Teams (EOEP).
All of these actions will be disseminated, in addition to through different media and communication channels, also through municipal radio with the broadcast of different radio programs in which the specific topic of sexual education and all its aspects will be addressed.
