Clari Martel: “The objective is, through music, to value artistic activities as an engine for transmitting other values, such as solidarity, friendship, camaraderie, in addition to educational/cultural content”
The genius of classical music, Ludwig Beethoven, found his inspiration yesterday when almost 600 girls and boys from preschool and primary education centers in San Bartolomé de Tirajana accompanied him with their notes in the performance held at the Cultural Center of Maspalomas.
This innovative initiative is part of the Department of Education, coordinated by Clari Martel, "in our objective of proposing educational, recreational and artistic activities in order to promote actions that contribute to the comprehensive development of students."
This activity, in which students from the Marcial Franco, San Fernando, Dunas and Oasis CEIPs have participated, stimulates all the senses of the students in the earliest educational stages.
And the fundamental objective that is proposed, through music, "is to value artistic activities as a motor for transmitting other values, such as solidarity, friendship, camaraderie, in addition to the educational/cultural content of knowledge of the great masters of music,” added Martel.
And the genius from Bonn, who was looking for inspiration throughout the European continent, to compose his most famous symphony, the Ninth, found it in San Bartolomé de Tirajana, with a small dedicated audience. A hymn to joy, solidarity and universal brotherhood.
They are the musicians and friends of the composer, Elisa and Nikolaus, who accompany him on a musical journey through Europe, through his most popular melodies.
Beethoven's arrangements of songs from different countries for piano, violin, cello and voice are the basis of this musical and stage project. Girls and boys travel for an hour through Tyrol, Poland, Russia, Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom, Scandinavia and many more places.
