Mobile Week is a meeting point between innovation and citizenship, designed for all audiences, from children to adults, to incorporate technology into their daily lives and discover how it can improve their lives.

 

Mobile week, the space where technology and society connect, arrives by first time to the Canary Islands from December 13 to 16, coinciding with the holding of the OECD Digital Economy Ministerial Conference.

 

The event is an initiative of Mobile World Capital Barcelona, ​​and is promoted together with the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation and the Government of the Canary Islands, with the support of Damm and CaixaBank. Mobile Week Canarias will take place in Gran Canaria   13 14 days and, Specifically Las Palmas de Gran Canaria – City Life, History & Island Vibes y San Bartolomé, and subsequently on the 15th and 16th in Tenerife, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife y Adeje

 

In each municipality, during a morning and afternoon session, a specific activity program(workshops, round tables, among others). Thus, in the morning, the activities will be aimed at the professional public, and in the afternoon at the public. 

 

Open space for reflection that integrates digitalization in society

 

During these four days, Institutions, corporations and citizens will meet to delve deeper into current digital issues like what are your digital rightsWhat opportunities do you have? Canary Islands as a digital destination for digital nomads, and learn how you can advance sustainability and green and digital transition.

 

The specific objectives of the Elder Museum of Science and Technology will host the kick-off of Mobile Week in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, with the institutional opening led by SEDIA, MWCapital, the Government of the Canary Islands and the municipal government. For its part, the Mobile Week of San Bartolomé de Tirajana will be held at the Socio Cultural Center. In Tenerife, the respective Mobile Week will be held in the Hotel Iberostar Mencey in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and in the Costa de Adeje Tourism Development Center in Adeje.

 

The events will feature papers led by Red.es e incibe about cybersecurity; round tables in which the development possibilities that the Canary Islands offer to digital nomads will be analyzed or talks about the impact of technology in adolescence y free workshops and workshops taught by the National 5G Observatory on the digital transformation of SMEs, among others. 

 

Likewise, Mobile Week has three top-notch collaborators like Learn to Check, which will offer verification workshops in which you will learn to detect false information; Huawei, which will transport its Smart Bus, an educational project that tours the country's schools to promote education and digital responsibility; and Unicef, which will bring citizens closer to the keys for technology to generate a positive impact on adolescents.

Mobile Week helps citizens integrate digitalization into their daily lives, through different participatory and free activities, from conferences to workshops, through debates and spaces for reflection. Under the mission of working to address digital gaps by promoting digital inclusion and promoting the digital empowerment of citizens, they connect technology with citizens, bringing the tools it offers closer to the social, cultural, ethical and human concerns and needs of the citizens.
