Mobile Week is a meeting point between innovation and citizenship, designed for all audiences, from children to adults, to incorporate technology into their daily lives and discover how it can improve their lives.
Mobile Week , the space where technology and society connect, arrives for the first time in the Canary Islands from December 13 to 16, coinciding with the celebration of the OECD Ministerial Conference on Digital Economy.
The event, an initiative of Mobile World Capital Barcelona, is promoted in conjunction with the State Secretariat for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation and the Government of the Canary Islands, with the support of Damm and CaixaBank. Mobile Week Canarias will take place in Gran Canaria on the 13th and 14th , specifically in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and San Bartolomé de Tirajana , and subsequently on the 15th and 16th in Tenerife, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Adeje.
In each municipality, a specific program of activities (workshops, roundtables, etc.) will take place over a morning and afternoon session . The morning activities will be geared towards professionals, while the afternoon activities will be aimed at the general public.
Open space for reflection that integrates digitalization in society
During these four days, institutions, corporations and citizens will come together to delve into current digital issues such as their digital rights , the opportunities the Canary Islands offers as a digital destination for digital nomads, and how to advance sustainability and the green and digital transition.
Specifically, the Elder Museum of Science and Technology will host the kickoff of Mobile Week in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, with the official opening ceremony led by SEDIA, MWCapital, the Government of the Canary Islands, and the municipal government. Meanwhile, Mobile Week in San Bartolomé de Tirajana will be held at the Socio-Cultural Center . In Tenerife, the respective Mobile Week events will take place at the Iberostar Mencey Hotel in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and at the Costa Adeje Tourist Development Center in Adeje.
The events will feature presentations led by Red.es and Incibe on cybersecurity; round tables analyzing the development opportunities that the Canary Islands offer to digital nomads ; talks on the impact of technology on adolescence ; and free workshops and seminars given by the National 5G Observatory on the digital transformation of SMEs, among others.
Mobile Week also boasts three top-tier partners: Learn to Check , which will offer fact-checking workshops on how to detect misinformation; Huawei , which will bring its Smart Bus, an educational project that travels to schools across the country to promote digital literacy and responsibility; and UNICEF , which will inform citizens about the key ways technology can have a positive impact on teenagers.

Mobile Week helps citizens integrate digitalization into their daily lives, through different participatory and free activities, from conferences to workshops, through debates and spaces for reflection. Under the mission of working to address digital gaps by promoting digital inclusion and promoting the digital empowerment of citizens, they connect technology with citizens, bringing the tools it offers closer to the social, cultural, ethical and human concerns and needs of the citizens.
