Last night, the mayor of Mogán, Onalia Bueno, together with girls from the municipality, pressed the magic button to turn on the Christmas lights, thus starting the program of festive events that will last until January 5.

The recently improved El Perchel beach, in the fishing town of Arguineguín, was the location chosen to celebrate the traditional lighting of the Christmas lighting. Neighbors and tourists came to the area to enjoy a night full of excitement, which started with the family musical 'Librería de Fantasías', by the Habemus Teatro company. On the stage installed on the street adjacent to the beach, José Manuel Santana García, characters known to everyone such as the Addams Family, Elsa and Olaf from Frozen, Simba, Timón and Pumbaa or Mary Poppins, among others, passed by, making them sing. and dance for young and old.
After the show, the mayor took the stage with girls from the municipality and, after an exciting countdown, surrounded by the children's characters, they proceeded to the Christmas lighting. Bueno took the opportunity to congratulate the holidays, wish a prosperous new year and invite everyone to enjoy the activities planned throughout the municipality to celebrate Christmas. She also reported that during the next week the presence of Christmas luminaries will be reinforced in certain points, since not all the material acquired by the City Council arrived in time for installation.
After the traditional lighting, the celebration continued with a magical concert offered by Los Dandys del Swing, who surprised with a repertoire performed in jazz style in which there was no shortage of classics such as 'Santa Claus came to town', 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' or 'White Christmas'.
The councilor for Lighting, Alba Medina, the accidental councilor for Culture, Consuelo Díaz, the councilor for Celebrations, Víctor Gutiérrez, and the councilor for Public Works, Ernesto Hernández, also participated in the event.
Christmas events from December 10 to 16
The Mogán Christmas program continues this Saturday the 10th at 20:30 p.m. with the inauguration of the traditional Ornamental Nativity Scene in the Church of San Antonio de Padua. Next, in the temple itself, there will be the Christmas Carol Meeting with the participation of parties from the municipality.
On Sunday, December 11, from 10:00 a.m. to 13:00 p.m., the Plaza de Álamo y Mejías in Barranquillo Andrés will host a children's playground. That same day, from 16:00 p.m. to 20:00 p.m., the playground will be on the municipal court in the center of Mogán.
From Monday the 12th to Friday the 16th the permanent tent in Plaza Pérez Galdós will become 'The House of Christmas'. A tour will guide visitors through various Christmas and theatrical sets until they reach Santa Claus, to whom letters of wishes can be delivered. There will also be Christmas craft workshops. In the mornings the activity will be exclusive to the municipality's educational centers and in the afternoons, from 17:00 p.m. to 19:00 p.m., it will be available to the general public. Those wishing to attend must reserve tickets at www.agendamogan.es (they are free).
On Wednesday the 14th it will be the turn of the Christmas Gala of the Municipal Sports Schools in the Plaza de Las Gañañías, Playa de Mogán, at 18:00 p.m. On Thursday the 15th, also at 18:00 p.m., the illusionist Juan Miguel will visit the Las Filipinas neighborhood with his magic show, while on Friday the 16th a children's playground will take place in Motor Grande from 17:00 p.m. to 20:00 p.m.: XNUMX hours.
The Serafín Zubiri Mogán Big Band Musical Association will offer a Christmas concert on the 15th at 18:00 p.m. next to the Norwegian Church of Arguineguín (promenade attached to Las Marañuelas beach) and on Friday the 16th at 19:00 p.m. the Doctor Pedro Betancor León square in Playa de Mogán.
