“Castillo Vivo”, event on environmental awareness, culture and sport

 

The town of Castillo del Romeral hosts this weekend the first edition of “Castillo Vivo”, an event that unites coastal cleaning, environmental awareness, sport and culture. This initiative has been organized by the Department of Coastal and Beaches and its councilor, Vicente Herrera Abrante, in a determined commitment to "promote the importance of keeping our beaches clean, the consequences that entails and taking advantage of it to enjoy a recreational day." -sports for the whole family.”

 

This event has been organized with the collaboration of the Departments of Culture and Historical Heritage, directed by Elena Espino Santana, and Citizen Participation, managed by Mercedes Díaz Melián, with the aim of achieving an “event for all audiences and that also serves , to acquire knowledge about the different aspects that are generated on the coast of this area of ​​our municipality”, through the different programmed activities.

 

The day will begin on Saturday the 17th at 9.00:11.00 a.m. with a coastal cleanup organized with the collaboration of the Castillo del Romeral Maritime Park Environmental Association. The cleaning will be carried out from La Caleta beach until reaching the area at the mouth of the ravine. Starting at XNUMX:XNUMX a.m., basketball and soccer sports activities will begin, in which the Castillo Basketball Club and Castillo Soccer Club collaborate. 

 

The House of Culture also hosts a presentation on the flora of the area and there will be a guided route through the old areas of the Castillo del Romeral coastline. Once the afternoon arrives, the program is filled with music, with performances by DJ JMarre, Mel Omana, La Guagua Band and Los Coquillos.
