The young man from Gran Canaria has released his new song “Playa del Inglés” with the renowned Puerto Rican artist Myke Towers.
Quevedo has decided to end his incredible 2022 on a high note, with a new hit alongside one of his musical idols: Myke Towers. The song, titled "Playa del Inglés," has already racked up over 400.000 views on YouTube and is trending at number two on the platform just six hours after the music video's release.
The song, destined to break all records, marks a turning point for the young artist from Gran Canaria, as it is his first collaboration with Myke Towers; an artist who, as Quevedo himself has stated on more than one occasion, is his role model in the music world and with whom he would love to collaborate. Myke Towers himself acknowledged and warmly reciprocated these words , an exchange of compliments that served as a prelude to this collaboration.
Back in early summer, in his session with the Argentinian producer Bizarrap (which has accumulated 390 million views and made him the first Spanish artist to reach Top 1 on Spotify), Quevedo sang his famous “Quédate” with a Canarian flag over his shoulder and his catchphrase “LPGC you know” in reference to the capital of Gran Canaria; but this time the young artist has gone a step further in his continuous displays of pride towards his land by titling his new song after one of the most recognized places in the archipelago.
“A little dance in Plaza in Playa del Inglés” sing Quevedo and Myke in their new song, making a clear reference to the Plaza Shopping Centre, an emblem of San Bartolomé de Tirajana which, although not going through its best moment, has been for years the benchmark place for nightlife in Gran Canaria.
Without a doubt, Quevedo has been the artist of 2022; a rise to stardom that began with the remix of "Cayó La Noche" featuring numerous renowned local composers like Bejo and Cruz Cafuné, and continued with collaborations with internationally acclaimed artists such as Mora, Bad Gyal, De la Ghetto, and Duki. Quevedo's joy is shared by the people of the Canary Islands, who shower him with affection and admiration, and who reciprocate by proudly mentioning him whenever he makes a public statement.
