Real Sociedad confirmed this weekend that it has signed an agreement with CD Maspalomas to carry out collaboration programs for the next three years. Thanks to these agreements, the Basque club will see other training centers first-hand and will contribute its knowledge in the field of working with young footballers.

In this way, CD Maspalomas becomes an agreed club of Real Sociedad and will work hand in hand on player development plans. Businessman David Silva works at Real Sociedad. As a result of this collaboration, the Basque club has launched a technology center in the Canary Islands. Realistic technicians will travel to the south of the island to carry out this training work and instruct the young people of this club in the realistic methodology. CD Maspalomas was founded in 1969. This important Gran Canaria club hosts 20 grassroots teams in its structure and its first team plays in the Canarian regional category.

A study by 'ABC' has come to the conclusion that the Basque youth academy is the most productive in Spain in terms of top-level players per million inhabitants. According to the analysis of the Spanish newspaper, Navarra would provide 39 professional players (from the First or Second Division) per million inhabitants, based on the 25 it provides among the 640.000 inhabitants. For its part, the Basque Country has the highest percentage, since with 72 top-level players among the 2.166.230 people who were born there, the average is close to 33 top-level footballers per million. Following them would be, in this order, the autonomous communities of La Rioja, Cantabria, the Canary Islands and Asturias.
