At around 15:19 p.m., the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert informing them that they had rescued a person from the water who was floating face down in the sea on the beach of Puerto Rico, Mogán.
The beach lifeguard, who had rescued the affected woman, a 74-year-old woman, from the water, verified that she was in cardiorespiratory arrest and began practicing resuscitation maneuvers, also using a defibrillator.
The SUC staff confirmed that the affected woman remained in cardiopulmonary arrest and, together with personnel from the area's health center and a private resource that was on site, continued practicing advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers without obtaining results, confirming her death. .
1-1-2 immediately activated the necessary emergency resources. Mogán Civil Protection personnel collaborated in transporting the health center staff to the beach. The Local Police collaborated with the rest of the emergency resources. The Agents of the General Corps of the Canarian Police guard the body of the deceased until the arrival of the judicial authority and the Mogán Civil Guard carries out the corresponding procedures.
