The City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana has been preparing for several weeks the Great Three Kings Parade of 2023. It will be this Thursday, January 5, when the large entourage of their majesties, accompanied by their pages and the entire entourage, will tour the streets of the municipality, whose starting point will be at the Municipal Stadium, starting at 17:30 p.m. The duration of the event will be about two hours.

The royal procession will be flanked by a total of eight large handcrafted floats that will debut, for the first time, in an event of this nature that will be loaded with excitement, music, dance and many gifts. A music band and a batucada will animate the development of the parade. In total, around 300 people make up the large royal family and their entourage.

The royal parade is opened by the Christmas float, Cinderella's float, Zenon's Farm, the Sports float, and Ariel's float precedes those corresponding to the three Wise Men.

Different groups made up of majorettes, goblins, elves, royal guards and Marbel characters (spiderman, Hulk, Captain America, etc.) will show their superpowers to the children.

But there's more: Painters with gigantic color palettes, Toy Story characters, giant coffee cups, cyclists, fairy godmothers, Alice in Wonderland and a team of skaters, are some of the performances that families can enjoy.

And we couldn't leave coal behind. A group of charcoal burners, who will be at work, will be in charge of remembering the importance of having behaved well throughout the year to receive the desired gifts. In reality, it is a metaphor that reminds girls and boys of the importance of adopting supportive and empathetic attitudes and behaviors.

Performance of `Hallway Effect

The San Fernando Park in Maspalomas stands as the reception point for the Wizards of the East where thousands of girls and boys will come to see and enjoy in situ of the presence of those who, a few hours later, will visit their homes to deposit the gifts.

The elderly, for their part, will also have the opportunity to receive their gifts in the form of musical notes with the performance of the Canarian group 'Efecto Pasillo', a concert that will begin at 22 p.m. and in the same square.

As Mayor Conchi Narváez recalled, “we can finally hold an open parade without restrictions of any kind, as happened last year due to the health situation. We are launching the design of the floats, whose construction is completely handmade and made by professionals and volunteers from the municipality.”

The councilor emphasized the extensive program of popular events displayed throughout the municipality during the celebration of the Christmas holidays 22-23.

"We have carried out an unprecedented program in which the essence of Christmas, in all its facets, has been brought closer to children and adults in our objective of integrating and involving neighbors, visitors and tourists in the entire “Christmas in Paradise.”
