UxGC is reinforced at the expense of the PP

 

The decision of the insular leadership of the Popular Party to “hand over” the party in Santa Lucía de Tirajana to the Neighborhood Association has received a forceful response from the Satauteño leadership, who has abandoned the party for Unidos por Gran Canaria, where Lucas Bravo de Laguna has received them with open arms, admitting the importance of this movement in the face of his expectations in Santa Lucía de Tirajana ahead of this year's elections and stating that Sergio Vega will be a vitally important asset in the party.

 

This intention on the part of the insular leadership of the Popular Party already materialized years ago in the neighboring municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, with AV-PP developing its activity as a single party and with the leader of the group, Marco Aurelio Pérez showing great level of collusion with the popular leader, Elena Álamo and even with the regional leadership of the party, as could be seen at the party's Christmas celebration where they met with the popular candidate for the Cabildo, Miguel Jorge and his namesake for the Presidency of the Government , Manuel Dominguez.

 

 

However, in Santa Lucía, this idea has not been received in the same way. Sergio Vega, in his presentation as a new member of UxGC, asserted that the entire leadership “worked to prevent the party from selling out to third-party interests ,” referring to the Residents' Association. Continuing his remarks, the former Popular Party leader stated that “now is the time to focus entirely on Santa Lucía and its residents, setting aside personal interests.”
