Marichal: “I am glad that all political forces have joined this request, only in this way will we be able to address and develop a project as strategic as Siam Park.”
The municipal plenary session has unanimously approved the motion presented by the Canarian Coalition to urge the Government of the Canary Islands to give the necessary administrative impetus for the preparation and approval of a new Plan for Modernization, Improvement and Increased Competitiveness in the area of El Veril (PMM El Veril) that will cover the development of Siam Park and allow the definitive license to be granted to the project.

As explained by the leader of the Canarian Coalition, Alejandro Marichal, the municipal corporation requested the Cabildo of Gran Canaria and the Government of the Canary Islands in July of last year, to draft the PMM El Veril, but “almost six months have passed since that announcement and After the CC-PNC parliamentary group became interested in the matter, we have received silence in response, so we do not know the status of the new Plan.”
Marichal demanded in the plenary session the support of all political forces for the motion presented to promote said file and finally, despite the initial reluctance alleged by Nueva Canarias to vote in favor of the matter, the motion was approved unanimously. The candidate for mayor of San Bartolomé de Tirajana expressed his satisfaction for getting all the political forces to have joined this request since "only by working together for the common good of our municipality will we be able to address and develop projects as important as Siam Park ”.
Also approved, with the abstention of the PP-AV group, the motion presented by the Canary Coalition to give the necessary administrative impetus to the preparation of the project to condition the Camino de Santiago, the construction of a building with 250 parking spaces and the Office of Tourism in Tunte, projects that, as Marichal reminded the government group, “have been waiting in some drawer since May.”
The three projects, which add up to a total of 2.3 million euros in subsidies, were works that the Canarian Coalition “left on the table and this municipal government, made up of the PSOE and NC, decided not to continue with their processing despite being projects of strategic interest and of utmost importance to revitalize tourism in our midlands.” For this reason, Marichal welcomes the government group's reconsideration of the importance of these projects as well as the decision to accept the proposal. In this way, the bidding file for the construction of the parking building and the Tunte Tourism Office can be started, as well as the bidding file for the Conditioning of the Camino de Santiago between Volcanoes in the Section of the municipality of San Bartolomé. of Tirajana, since “there is a certain risk of losing the subsidies granted.”
