54 migrants disembark in Arguineguín after the rescue of three boats

The rescue was carried out in the early hours of this Tuesday, after intercepting three boats with a total of 171 passengers, of which 117 were transferred to Fuerteventura and the rest to Gran Canaria.

The Canary Islands migratory route closes January with the rescue of three boats, two near the coast of Fuerteventura with 57 and 60 occupants, all of sub-Saharan origin, and one with 54 passengers of North African origin, several kilometers from the coast of Gran Canaria. The first two boats were sighted by an aircraft belonging to Salvamento Marítimo, and were subsequently intercepted by the Salvamar Mizar, which approached the boat to provide help to its occupants, who disembarked in Gran Tarajal early in the morning.

 

Later, after two in the morning, a third boat was sighted less than 280 kilometers from the coast of Gran Canaria, which mobilized one of the Guardamar Maritime Rescue boats, which went to rescue the boat and rescue its victims. 54 occupants (52 men and 2 women). Guardamar disembarked the 54 rescued people at the Arguineguín dock this morning, where they received medical care.
