CRISTIAN SANCHEZ Wednesday, February 01, 2023

After the event in the early hours of this Tuesday in which two drunk tourists tore off the door of a unit, the group has demanded measures to stop this type of situation.

The violent event that occurred on Tuesday night, when a taxi driver suffered damage to his car, whose door was torn off by two drunk tourists who tried to escape, the taxi sector in Maspalomas has demanded measures to guarantee the safety of its members. , such as the placement of video surveillance cameras at stops.

The claim has been made through the union UGT Canarias, which indicates that this attack is one of the many that taxi drivers in the area have received, giving as an example the attack suffered by a colleague in the last edition of Gay Pride.

Insecurity and the fact of feeling unprotected in the face of these attacks are the main causes on which, from UGT, they base their request. They even claim that many colleagues have begun to consider doing night shifts due to the situation.
