The government council of the Canary Islands has reached an agreement without the opposition of Podemos to take over the drafting and processing of the second Plan for the Modernization, Improvement and Increase of Competitiveness of El Veril, San Bartolomé de Tirajana. This plan seeks to make Siam Park viable after the ruling of the TSJC, ratified by the Supreme Court, which declared the urban plan null.
The Executive maintains that the measure "aims to respond to the need to address actions aimed at the rehabilitation of its urban-tourist space, within the environmental, social and landscape framework." From now on "the next step is the process and period of public exhibition" and "from there we hope everything happens as soon as possible" because "Siam Park is an element of tourist importance for Gran Canaria."
The measure is because "the aim is to improve the articulation of the road system, promote quality tourism with a high level of sustainability and recover underused spaces." Regarding the quality of the space, the objective is to "minimize the impact of proposed actions on the environment, promote actions that lead to savings or reductions in the consumption of water, energy, waste and other pollutants, and promote the recycling and reuse of waste".
