In El Canalizo, a small paradise adjacent to the Chira and Cercados de Araña dam, in the mountains of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, asphalt is prohibited from entering. The landscape restrictions of the area, which is located in the Nublo Rural Park, have forced the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council to investigate new sustainable paving techniques to solve access problems for residents and visitors to the enclave. The reuse of the earth and the coarsening of the path itself has made it possible to improve the surface of the 800 linear meters of the path that connects the payment with the main road. With this initiative, El Canalizo becomes "the longest ecological route in the Canary Islands" and the healthy envy of nearby mid-range towns.
