At around 13:38 p.m., the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert informing them that a man had been taken out of the water and that he was in cardiorespiratory arrest.
Upon arriving at Arinaga Beach, municipality of Agüimes, the SUC personnel confirmed that the affected person, a 60-year-old man, was in cardiorespiratory arrest and performed advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers without obtaining results, so it was confirmed his death.
1-1-2 immediately activated the necessary emergency resources. The Consortium Firefighters collaborated with the staff of the Canary Emergency Service in assisting the affected person. The Civil Guard took charge of the body of the deceased until the arrival of the judicial authority and carried out the corresponding procedures. The Local Police collaborated with the emergency services.
