Popular Party and the Santa Lucía de Tirajana Neighborhood Group (AV-SLT) have signed an agreement to compete as an electoral coalition within the Santa Lucía de Tirajana City Council.
A commission headed by Manuel Hernández, president of AV-SLT, and Vicente Araña, president of the local PP Manager, is formed, which will be in charge of presenting the project and the people who will make up the next Municipal Government Group to the people of Santa Lucía.
Manuel Hernández, renowned architect, in this term has demonstrated his deep knowledge of the functioning of the City Council, his ability to “give it back” to his neighbors, and his proposals and projects for improvement, progress and the future.
The Popular Party (PP) and the Santa Lucía de Tirajana Neighborhood Group (AV-SLT) They will run as a coalition for the Santa Lucía City Council in the next local elections which will take place on May 28, 2023, with Manuel Hernández as a candidate for Mayor.
Hernández will be the head of the list and who assumes the “responsibility and honor” of being the next Mayor of Santa Lucía de Tirajana. In his opinion, “this agreement demonstrates the maturity and solidity of its political project of change, future and future for the people of Saint Lucía that AV-SLT represents.”
Likewise, Hernández explains that with this alliance the residents of Santa Lucía de Tirajana "have a clear government alternative for the municipal elections compared to the rest of the political projects and candidates who have either assumed the Mayor's Office to continue doing the same, or even worse, than what her predecessor already did in the previous legislature, or by those who could have assumed the Mayor's Office, but were prevented from doing so by conditions unrelated to the interests of the residents of Santa Lucia de Tirajana."
The candidate of the coalition made up of PP and AV-SLT adds that the members of the next government group that emerges from this political meeting, They have already shown that they know how to manage the “Day-to-day City Council”, improving management and solving the problems that paralyze it, but they will also attend to the “City Council of the projects”.
In this sense, the electoral coalition refers to the Greater Municipality, the need for a judicial party, the international competition of ideas for Pozo Izquierdo, the reduction of taxes, elimination of bureaucracy, facilitating the installation and implementation of projects that They create jobs, among others, "bringing them forward, turning our municipality into an economic and well-being benchmark, without abandoning or neglecting any of our neighbors."
"I must add that with this agreement between equals, not only is the freedom of decision of AV-SLT and the PP guaranteed regarding the issues to be discussed in our municipality, but we also guarantee greater and more fluid communication with the next governments that are in charge of neighboring municipalities, of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, of the Canary Islands, and even in the Government of Spain; ending institutional isolation, and with it the blocking of projects to be carried out by these Administrations in our municipality.”
Hernández regrets the “isolationist policy based on confrontation” with those who think differently, who "has condemned us" by those who have demonstrated their "inability to inspire", but who "fortunately will stop impeding the economic and social development of our municipality when on May 28 our neighbors, With your vote, recover your City Council.”
Hernández will be accompanied in the candidacy by the popular Vicente Araña, a lawyer by profession, who has recently returned to assume organic responsibilities in the local PP after having obtained great electoral results in the 1995-1999 legislature, which meant having a third of the councilors elected. .
It should be noted that Vicente Araña, in his capacity as a jurist, has already been collaborating intensively during this same legislature with Manuel Hernández in the defense of the resources and procedures that have been filed against the serious irregularities observed in municipal management.
This circumstance confirms not only the existence of full trust between both leaders, but also the “existence of a common government project”, which both formations now share. Vicente Araña indicates that “this agreement guarantees that in the next municipal elections the desired change of government will finally arrive in our municipality. Manuel Hernández is the Mayor we need,” he emphasizes.
“He will govern for everyone, without excluding anyone, without his actions being governed by sectarianism or ideological extremism, but rather by dialogue and consensus. Furthermore, thanks to his talent, his knowledge and his ability to work, he will bring the agreements and investments that we need to come from other Administrations to become one of the 135 large municipalities in Spain, receiving the same treatment as, for example, the City of Madrid. And that project for our neighbors,” adds Araña.
For his part, the island president of the Popular Party, Miguel Jorge Blanco, PP candidate for the Presidency of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, points out “the excellent personal relationship between both local leaders of Santa Lucía de Triajana, and the years of previous work already carried out together, ensuring that all agreements adopted by both political formations will be governed by consensus, and that Its actions will be directed solely and exclusively at providing a solution to the serious problems and shortcomings suffered by Santa Lucía de Tirajana.".
Jorge Blanco adds that after more than 40 years of the same type of political and administrative management, which has led the municipality to “tragedy” to occupy the first positions of poverty, unemployment and even minors at risk or helplessness, it is time "to bring the change that this municipality so longs for."
