This is a 3-month Employment Plan in which 25 workers have been hired; 22 agricultural laborers, 2 foremen and 1 social worker. Thus, during the duration of the project they have developed different actions with high general and social interest, contributing to the revitalization of the rural area of the municipality and promoting a sustainable development model respectful of the local culture by acting on the “Barranco de Saint Augustine-Amurga.
Among the places where they have worked to improve forest trails are Calderín, Lomo los Azules, Agadir, Aldea Blanca or El Rodeo, among others.
As a novelty, on this occasion the project has involved the hiring of a social worker who has guided the workers in the search for job placement opportunities or the preparation of resumes, among other skills. Therefore, in addition to the conditioning of rural roads, employed people have benefited from socio-educational and skills actions with the aim of enhancing their social skills and digital skills.
This project is part of a broad program of employment plans managed by the Local Development area that in the last quarter of 2022 alone employed 161 people from the municipality thanks to financing from different public organizations.
