A company from the municipality has tried to register the brand “Maspalomas Pride By Freedom”, something that has caused discomfort in the council
Jaifer Events SL, a company established in 2020 and based in the Tirajan municipality, has attempted to register the “Maspalomas Pride By Freedom” brand, under which Gay Pride is celebrated; one of the main tourist and leisure attractions of this municipality.

The city council did not take long to respond; Inés Rodríguez, Councilor for Tourism, has shown her opposition to this fact, stating that the council does not deserve this type of act by always showing total predisposition to hold celebrations, also stating that this act “seriously harms” the interests of the municipality.
The company has not made any statements. For its part, the city council in recent days has begun to present the invited artists for the party, which will be held from May 4 to 14 and has already announced figures such as the singer Jia Miles or Rubén Diza.
