The new show by the Villa de Ingenio Musical Society, which will feature the artist Rubén Pérez in the role of troubadour, will be offered this Saturday, February 11, at 20:30 p.m. at the Federico García Lorca Theater in Ingenio
The Band of the Villa de Ingenio Musical Society returns, as usual within the framework of the patron saint festivities of Candelaria and San Blas, to offer this time the musical-theatrical show “Historias de Trovador”, the Federico García Lorca Theater in Ingenio on Saturday, February 11, at 20:30 p.m., with free entry with seat reservation at www.entrees.es.
The repertoire has been carefully selected from different myths and legends, such as Stories about the Arthurian legend, Noah's Ark or The Pyramids of Egypt, among others. All set with a plot that will feature one of the few troubadours still left in this world today, who has been summoned to a music concert. The troubadour will share with the public and with the musicians his great concern, that the world has forgotten the importance of stories, narratives and verses.
With a careful staging and a band of 64 musicians, the SMVI is committed to an innovative format, where the troubadour and his apprentice, played by Rubén Pérez and Andrea García, will lead the audience along the path of stories that make up the concert with the objective of offering a complete and immersive experience from the moment you enter the theater.
For José Buceta, musical director of the Ingenio Band , “…this concert is being prepared with special care and dedication due to the special dates on which it is being celebrated .” Buceta also emphasizes the collective effort behind this project, an effort that “we are sure will captivate the audience from the very first moment, transporting and bringing to life for all listeners the most incredible stories and legends from different cultures around the world.”
For his part, singer and actor Rubén Pérez, who previously worked with SMVI in the musical "El Polizón" in 2018, considers his participation in "Historias de Trovador" a wonderful challenge and an expansion of his skills as a performer and artist. Pérez emphasizes that "...the preparation of this project is being meticulously attended to by each and every member of the group, but above all, by those in charge, who are doing a commendable job ensuring that everything always has a fresh, unique feel, perfectly suited to its time and needs. That is truly admirable, and it's exciting to participate in projects of this nature, where there is so much dedication, humility, and above all, enthusiasm for creating something fantastic."
“Historias de Trovador” is a production of the SMVI with the collaboration of the Department of Culture and Celebrations of the Ingenio City Council and the Canarian Friends of the Opera.
