San Bartolomé de Tirajana presents its Digital Economy Diagnosis

MASPALOMAS24H Tuesday, February 14, 2023

The entity appreciates the collaboration of citizens and the business community of the municipality through participation in surveys on digital needs during the last two months that have allowed the preparation of the Local Digital Economy Diagnosis

The San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council has been working for two months on the preparation of a diagnosis of the local digital economy, a document that will serve as a basis for defining a strategy to promote digitalization in the municipality. For this reason, a brief online presentation of this activity will be organized on February 16 at 11:00 a.m. to anyone who wants to participate by videoconference through this link: https://meet.google.com/ grt-vkue-tym.

This diagnosis analyzes the situation of digitalization in the municipality based on 7 differentiated components: ITCC Sector, Digital Transformation of the Company, People, Connectivity, Digital Public Services, Training and Infrastructures for Business Development. This has allowed us to conclude that, despite the fact that digitalization is increasingly present in the business environment and citizens, it is necessary to propose new formulas to continue helping them adapt to this new reality. Companies are changing and are being aware of the need to adapt to the current situation and join all the projects that the City Council is developing.

For citizens, for their part, the use of the Internet and technological equipment is increasing. The diagnosis allows us to confirm that San Bartolomé de Tirajana has the optimal characteristics to be a destination for Digital Nomads, and it is necessary to propose strategies to promote the growth of these new profiles and offer them adequate work spaces.

“This work would not have been possible without the collaboration of the citizens and the business community of the municipality” – comments Councilor for Innovation Antonio Pérez, thanking the participation in the surveys on digital needs launched, which remained open until November 27 2022. “The results have been quite positive.”

The San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council hopes to have your participation on February 16 at 11:00 a.m., to share with the entire population the work carried out, and exchange on future improvements for the municipality in the field of digitalization.
