More than fifty troops to carry out the eviction of Castillo del Romeral

 

As planned, the Investigative Court number 5 of San Bartolomé de Tirajana has carried out the eviction of the squatted homes in Castillo del Romeral. The homes, owned by Caixabank, were in a state of total abandonment and since 2014 they had been reconditioned by local residents who had entered them.

 

 

 

 

The neighbors themselves have stated at all times that they did not use any violent method to access the home and that since entering the apartments they have tried to agree to pay a social rent, a proposal rejected by the institutions.

 

With shouts demanding to be able to pay to stay in the squatted apartments, the neighbors who had entered the apartments of the block were evicted by the judicial commission and the troops deployed in the area, which exceeded fifty.

 

 

 

The eviction was carried out without incident, but with a noticeable atmosphere of tension, nervousness and indignation among the neighbors, who came to criticize the agents for their abruptness when vacating the block.
