The aid is framed within the Strategic Framework of Equality 'Gran Canaria Infinita'
Inter-municipal entities may develop projects in diverse areas such as sports, employment, the LGTBI community, etc.
The associations of municipalities of Gran Canaria, among which is the Commonwealth of the Southeast, will each receive 30.000 euros from the Cabildo of Gran Canaria to launch projects related to the promotion of equality in 2023.
In a meeting held this morning, the Minister of Equality and Diversity of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, Sara Ramírez, conveyed to the communities of the island the existence of this budget item that represents another step in the implementation of the Strategic Framework of the 'Gran Canaria Infinita' Equality, which already includes an individual commitment with each of the 21 town councils on the island.
The president of the Commonwealth of the Southeast and mayor of Ingenio, Ana Hernández, assured that the three town councils of the region work together on equality projects, which is why she valued the possibility of having “financing like this to continue developing new projects in the environment of sports, education, etc.”
The associations will be able to present their projects in the coming weeks, taking into account the lines that are included in the Strategic framework, such as equal sports, rural women, equal decent employment, the defense of the rights of the LGTBI collective, etc.
