The Youth Department of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council promotes a series of awareness-raising actions on the need to preserve the environment and whose recipients are the ESO students of the municipality.
These different actions that combine training activities in the classrooms and also outings, such as participatory coastal cleaning activities and snorkeling activities, will benefit the students from the different IES AND CEOS of the municipality.
The Department of Youth makes a clear commitment, in this case to raising awareness and caring for the environment, in different themes that encompass this, such as: 'SOS Climate', 'Participatory Management on the Coast', 'You Take Care of Me' , I Take Care of You', 'Tap Water Vs Bottled Water', as well as snorkeling activities in the sea.
For the head of this municipal area, Irasema Hernández, “raising awareness from the affected spaces is the key to making them understand the real importance of taking care of the environment.”
The centers that participate are: The IES Támara, El Tablero Aguañac, Amurga and Faro de Maspalomas, being the CEOs of Tunte and Pancho Guerra, reaching more than 300 students.
These activities are financed by the Department of Education and Youth of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria and executed by the city council.
