Sardina del Sur celebrates its carnival festivities this week, which turns 40 years old. The theme of this edition is dedicated to Asia. The sardine carnivals are organized by the Sardina del Sur Neighborhood Association and have the support of many companies in the town and the City Council.
Today, Wednesday the 22nd, there will be the costume ball and the election of the best costume at the Sardina Seniors' Club, entertained by the Demelza and Santi Group. At 21 p.m. the Trans Sardina will leave the town square, the athletes will be able to come out in costume, the race will be entertained by the Charanguita Los Amigos.
On Thursday starting at 17 p.m. there will be the Children's Carnival in the town square. There will be face painting, inflatables, dolls, and different activities. At 20 p.m., a video will be shown at the Sardina House of Culture telling the story of the four decades of carnivals with the title "Tribute to the 40th anniversary of the Sardinero carnival."
On Friday the 24th, 'La Polvajera' is celebrated, a tour through the streets of the town, accompanied by Maruca, with parties and talcum powder. At 22.30:23.30 p.m. the wake for the late sardine will begin. At XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. there will be the festival with the group Arena and DJ Suárez.
On Saturday, February 25 at 19 p.m., the funeral of La Sardina will take place, with the traditional route that will depart from Las Chácaras, and will end in the town square, with batucada and with the Charanguita los Amigos and Carroza Beletén. At 22 p.m. there will be the reading of the will, the burning of the sardine and the flyers. At 23.30:XNUMX p.m. there will be the festival with the group Leyenda Joven, and the DJs Yeray Peñate and Jose Medina.
