Approved the planning for the section between kilometer points 49 and 56, in San Bartolomé de Tirajana for the train execution plan

 

The Island Government Council of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria has today definitively approved the document of the 'Partial Review of the Special Territorial Plan for the management of the public transport corridor with its own infrastructure and guided mode between Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Maspalomas (PTE -21), in the areas of San Agustín-San Fernando de Maspalomas and Tarajalillo-Lilolandia, in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana', through which the train that will connect the Santa Catalina Park in the capital of the Island will run. with Maspalomas. 

 

 

This decision, adopted at the proposal of the Department of Territorial Policy and Landscape directed by Inés Miranda, represents taking the last step to complete the execution plan for the Gran Canaria train, which has been declared by the Cabildo a priority project of island interest, and In order to be able to build, the only thing missing was planning for the section between kilometer points 49 and 56, which today has already obtained the definitive approval of the Government body, whose agreement will be submitted to the Plenary Session of the Corporation. 

 

Thus, in the same session, the Island Government Council has resolved to take into consideration the agreement of the Environmental Body of Gran Canaria, dated September 23, 2020, by which it was decided that, as concluded in its text, "the modification of territorial planning that orders the suspended section of the PTE-21, between PK49 and PK56, does not have significant effects on the environment, in the terms established in the strategic environmental document signed as environmental evaluator by Mr. Julio Rodríguez Márquez, dated July 2020, and in which it provides specific corrective measures to minimize the warned environmental effects." 

 

Likewise, the body has decided to consider answered the reports and allegations that were presented during the administrative consultation and public information process to which the Initial approval document was submitted, in the terms set forth in the Annex to the Technical Report dated February 1, 2023, issued by the Director of Strategic Development of the Gran Canaria Island Planning Plan of the Planning Service, and notify the individualized response to the allegations to each of the interested parties.

 

 

 

 

Finally, the Island Government Council has approved to order the publication of the final approval agreement in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands, as well as the full content of the regulations of the Partial Review of the PTE-21, with indication of the appropriate resources. Furthermore, this agreement, along with all the documents that make up the Plan, must be published on the electronic headquarters of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria.

 

Simultaneously with the submission of the regulations of the planning instrument for publication in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands, the plans and the rest of the documents that make up the plan will be sent to the Government of the Canary Islands for inclusion in the Planning Registry of the Canary Islands. the information and organization of the Plan, as well as the documentation provided for in the environmental evaluation, in accordance with the provisions of articles 23 and 155 of the Law on Land and Protected Natural Areas of the Canary Islands. Finally, all documentation will also be sent to the Cartographic Council of the Canary Islands, in accordance with the provisions of article 157.5 of the same Law.
