Conchi Narváez: “It will be a great incentive to boost the municipality's economy and it will increase edition after edition”
San Bartolomé de Tirajana adds to its calendar of mass leisure events with international repercussions, the 'Maspalomas Vive Fest', which will be held between April 6 and 9 at the Maspalomas Football Field and is expected to host around 30 a thousand people.
This was announced this morning by Mayor Conchi Narváez, who was accompanied by Samuel Henríquez, first deputy mayor, and the promoter of the event, Damián Almeida, at the official presentation ceremony.
In the words of the first mayor, “this will be the new benchmark festival in Gran Canaria, since it will welcome all audiences thanks to its wide and dynamic offering.”
For Henríquez, “we are talking about an activity where security is key, since the forecast could exceed thirty thousand people. We will provide all the necessary troops, with the support of the National Police, who will guarantee the development of the four days of the festival.”
According to its promoter, “the festival will be able to host more than 10.000 people per day and will have different service and restaurant areas. In short, it will have all the color and showiness that an act of the magnitude of this one deserves."
For his part, Narváez pointed out that "the Soul Festival, the Gay Pride or the Maspalomas International Carnival, all leisure initiatives that constitute centers of high tourist attraction on an international level, throughout different times of the year, now the The municipality's agenda includes the 'Maspalomas Vive Fest', quite an event."
The first mayor also highlighted “the great incentive that this festival will provide for the revitalization of the municipality's economy and that will increase as it is consolidated edition after edition.”
Performances, also with a Canarian accent
On Thursday the 6th, the Bresh Festival is celebrated, and on Friday, April 7, performances by the artists Álvaro de Luna, Beret and Marlon. On Saturday the 8th, the 'University On Tour' will be held, while on Sunday the 9th, the 'Sundayfest' will take place.
'University on Tour' is a brand that has been consolidated for more than nine years. It started in nightclubs and, little by little, has been growing in different locations such as the Plaza de la Música or the Infecar fairgrounds, among others.
It has different editions, depending on the designated date on which it is held: University End of Exams (January and June); University Carnival; Halloween University Project; Palos by University (party held in October in collaboration with the ULPGC Faculty of Medicine)
The 'Sundayfest' will crown the closing of an epic festival hosting different local artists from the Islands. It will feature groups with great background and experience such as Combo Dominicano, Armonía Show, Aseres, Kilian Viera and many more.
