This Wednesday the exhibition “Poetry in Watercolor” opens, with poems and watercolors by Silvia Hidalgo. It can be seen until next March 24 in the A. Janina room of the Víctor Jara theater. Also this March 24st, another exhibition titled “Art of the World” begins with illustrations by Yasmina Martínez. It will be in the Lola Massieu room of the same theater and will be open until March XNUMX.
A poster contest has also been held among 4th to 6th grade primary school students from the Municipality's ceip. The selection will take place on March 6 at the Municipal Center for Equality.
On March 6, the exhibition “Gambian Instruments” opens at the Municipal Ateneo, provided by the NGO Proyecto Gambia, in the hall of the Municipal Ateneo, with a performance by students from the EMM of Santa Lucía de Tirajana. On the same day there will be the talk “The forgotten ones of painting, the forgotten paintings”, by Mr. Juan Cabrera, Director of the Luján Pérez MS of Drawing and Painting of Santa Lucía de Tirajana. The photographic exhibition 'Maasai Woman' can be seen in the assembly hall of the municipal offices, from March 7 to 17.
Recognition of the educational community
On Tuesday, March 7 at 7 pm at the Cine de Sardina Cultural Center, the Institutional Act of Working Women's Day will be held. This year recognition will be given to the equality commissions and teams of the municipality's educational community.
One of the new features this year is the celebration on Friday, March 17, of the first Festival Igualdad Transformes Santa Lucía de Tirajana. It will be on Avenida de Canarias and in Plaza de Los Algodoneros between 17 and 21 p.m. There will be children's inflatables, Baby Stories, Storytelling, Family Cooperation Workshop, Equality workshops, Latin dances and performances by Flor de Oroval and 'M de Mujer'.
The screening of the documentary 'Raíces de mujer' has also been scheduled for Wednesday, March 8 at the Municipal Athenaeum at 18.30:20 p.m. and 10 p.m. On Friday, March XNUMX at the Sardina House of Culture there will be the concert of the Devoyka Women's Choir.
From March 16 to April 7, 2023 in the Felo Monzón exhibition hall of the Ateneo Municipal there will be the exhibition of paintings “Before all this was” by Cristina Ortega. On Wednesday the 22nd in the Nelson Mandela room of the Víctor Jara theater there will be an educational talk for women in the perimenopausal and menopausal period: How does my age affect sexuality?, given by Dr. Luisa Esther Gutiérrez García, Gynecologist at the Insular University Hospital Complex Maternal and Child.
The Councilor for Equality, Minerva Pérez, highlights that “we have prepared an extensive program of actions throughout the month of May to continue raising awareness in favor of equality as we do throughout the year.” Pérez added that “in the institutional event we will value the important work that the equality teams do in educational centers.
