Nine people arrested, five of them minors, for the robbery of several vehicles in Telde

 

Agents of the National Police, with the collaboration of the Telde Local Police, have arrested nine people this morning, five of them minors, for the crimes of attempted robbery with force and theft of use of a vehicle. Those arrested were surprised this morning when they stole the wheels of two vehicles on public roads, five of them being minors. Four mopeds used by the detainees were listed as stolen, so they were seized.

 

This morning, the notice was received on the telephone in room 091 from a citizen who was observing how several young people were breaking into a vehicle on public roads.

 

 

Upon the arrival of the agents, they caught three young people red-handed carrying a cat and several balaclavas, and they also located a fourth person hiding under a vehicle. After checking the car, it showed signs of break-in. At the same time, a Telde Local Police patrol had received the same notice but on another nearby street, locating another vehicle there that was missing a wheel and a young man manipulating it.

 

For all these reasons, several National Police patrols carried out a search in the surrounding area in case there were more affected vehicles, locating four mopeds with three people on them. After checking the license plates of the motorcycles, the four were reported as stolen, at which point they acknowledged being with other young people who were stealing car wheels.

 

Finally, the nine people were arrested for the crimes of attempted robbery and vehicle theft. Informing the Minors Section of the Las Palmas Provincial Prosecutor's Office of the detention of the minors.

 

Those of legal age will be placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority.
