On August 28, the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council sent the execution of the expenditure of the municipal departments to the Audience of Accounts of the Canary Islands for audit and control, as confirmed to Maspalomas24H by an official familiar with the process. On the other hand, the State Court of Accounts is still pending the arrival of the local report from 2021 in its entirety.
In 2023, the Audience of Accounts of the Canary Islands has chosen the area of urban planning "because this is one of those in which at a doctrinal and even audit level there are few references for the prevention of the risks entailed by the management of this area" and its "greatest litigation index". In the State Court of Accounts there is a complaint for the expenditure of 500.000 euros made for the celebration of the First Congress of auditors, treasurers and secretaries of the local Administration in Spain and formulated by CC.
The actions of the corruption prevention service for 2022 have essential priorities such as collecting and providing information on the internal control systems of these entities. In 2023, guidance will be given by collecting in the report not only the traditional internal control issues but also including the novel aspects that are foreseen for the executing entities of community funds in the actions carried out this year.
