Elections 28M: Gustavo Santana climbs to the Parliament of the Canary Islands

The Deputy Minister of Employment, Tirajanero Gustavo Santana, from the southern executive of the island, hopes to obtain a place in the Parliament of the Canary Islands with the PSOE on the list that competes in the elections on May 28. Santana's presence on the list for the Canary Islands Parliament must be cleared this March by the regional leadership and in April the federal leadership of the PSOE in Madrid will do so. Santana earns 65.864,58 euros per year as Deputy Minister of Employment, free of taxes and social charges. In 2019 he claimed to have private assets valued at 41.000 euros.

Santana, in this way, has respected the gentlemen's agreement with the local management of Tirajana, leaving an attractive position on the list led by Augusto Hidago to the current Minister of Tourism, José Carlos Álamo. With this, Tirajana recovers key positions in the Parliament of the Canary Islands, a space until now left by the hand of God since Fernnado Toribio was an AV-PP deputy together with María del Mar Arévalo. The first polls after the Mediador case show a decrease in voting intention for the Canarian PSOE in favor of the PP with a flight of almost 10% of its electorate, as reported this Monday by La Razón.

The insular leadership of the PSOE launched this Monday the first round of candidates and on the list for Parliament it places Santana behind its leader, Elena Máñez, Miguel Ángel Pérez del Pino, Nayra Alemán from Aruba, Gustavo Santana, Jerónimo's niece Saavedra, Marta Saavedra and possibly Concepción Narváez's former chief of staff, José Francisco Duque, currently a deputy in Madrid due to the rebound effect of the Mediator case.
