The president of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, Antonio Morales, also referred to this effort by the families of the region, recalling that “crafts, livestock and commerce are the basis on which its development has been based.” For this reason, “this fair allows the whole of Gran Canaria to be exposed to the effort made by the region and the pillars on which its future is based,” added the president.

Morales assured that "the primary sector and crafts have made great progress in recent years and we continue to keep alive traditions such as grazing, the production of internationally famous cheeses, vegetables...". In that sense, spaces like the fair “help raise awareness about the need to consume local products in addition to promoting local employment,” he said.

Also present at the inauguration was the president of the Association of Businessmen of Ingenio and Carrizal (INCAE), David Rodríguez, who thanked the Commonwealth of the Southeast for having “kept this meeting alive and promoted the producing families of the region.” He also considered this type of event as “a stimulus for commerce” and hoped that all people who visit the fair “find and enjoy the commerce in the area.”
