Neighbors denounce the state of dirt and abandonment that public spaces present after the carnival parade
PP-AV Neighborhood Group denounces the image of abandonment and dirt that some of the most important and busy streets of San Fernando de Maspalomas and also Playa del Inglés presented throughout this Sunday, after the carnival parade. The situation has generated numerous complaints and criticism from neighbors, tourists and residents.
Neighbors say they have never seen anything like it. The Open Commercial Zone, on Avenida de Gáldar, in San Fernando de Maspalomas, and also the recently opened Avenida 8 de Marzo, in Playa del Inglés, offered this Sunday a surprising image of dirt with numerous remains of plastic cups, bottles and cans of beer and soft drinks and energy drinks on benches, tree pits and garden beds, and also around public litter bins.
The image of dirt and abandonment, especially on the sidewalks, has generated enormous discomfort among residents and tourists, who have been very surprised by the lack of cleanliness in the streets. They consider it unprecedented that garbage was collected from the bins but not from the rest of the public spaces on the streets.
PP-AV Neighborhood Group urges the quadripartite municipal government to proceed with the utmost urgency to carry out a deep cleaning raid on the affected streets.
PP-AV emphasizes that the needs of residents be met, who demand that street cleaning be accompanied by pressure washing campaigns with cleaning and disinfection products for urine remains and bad odors.
These washing campaigns are essential for their sanitation, especially on Avenida de Gáldar and in the alley that gives access to the Parque Cristobal complex, in Playa del Inglés.
