Canaragua has opened the door of its facilities to celebrate Water Day

Water Day was celebrated today, March 22, at the Canaragua facilities. The company has opened the doors of its facilities to give a tour to the students of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana Adult Education Center (CEPA), of various nationalities and residents of the municipality.

Jaime Planells, Canaragua Concessions Manager, received the visitors at the plant where the company's plumbing employees and engineers in charge of water distribution in San Bartolomé de Tirajana are located and offered a brief introductory talk in which he explained the tour they would take and the importance of taking care of a good as precious and scarce as water.

Along with Jaime Planells was Daniel Simón, Head of the Drinking Water Supply Department, who was in charge of explaining all the technology present in the phases of the process through which the water passes before starting the tour of the facilities.

The tour took the CEPA students to the Oasis 2 wastewater pumping station and the El Tablero treatment plant. At the pumping station, attendees received a talk about the problems that can occur in the sanitation network if it is misused by throwing away wipes, oils or other types of objects and substances that can clog the network. There they also had the opportunity to see how the viewing camera attached to a robot that Canaragua technicians use to observe eventualities that may occur inside the sanitation network works.

At the El Tablero treatment plant, where wastewater from El Tablero, Pasito Blanco, Campo Internacional, Meloneras and Playa del Inglés converge, attendees have been able to witness the conditions in which the wastewater arrives and the procedures in which it is processed. the water from all the waste present in it (grease, wipes...) and the subsequent biological treatments that seek to separate the organic matter from the water to filter and purify it, thus allowing its reuse.

With this event, Canaragua aims to show the importance of caring for and appreciating such a scarce asset, as well as showing the amount of latest technology elements used in the various processes through which the water passes and that ensure a supply with all possible guarantees for part of the company. At the end of the tour, attendees were able to enjoy a small picnic and receive a gift from Canaragua.
