At around 14:46 p.m. yesterday afternoon, the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert informing them that a hiker needed health care in the area of Veneguera, municipality of Mogán.
The rescuers from the GES helicopter, together with Civil Protection and Firefighters, proceeded to rescue the 62-year-old hiker of Swedish nationality, who had suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest, and evacuated her in the aircraft to the helisurface of the Doctor Negrín University Hospital in Gran Canaria while They performed resuscitation maneuvers on him.
Once on the ground, SUC personnel continued practicing advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers during the transfer of the affected woman to the hospital facility, where her death was confirmed.
1-1-2 immediately activated the necessary emergency resources. The Civil Protection and Firefighters provided the first attention to the affected person. The police forces of the Civil Guard and Local Police collaborated with the emergency services.
