Members of the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), Local Police, Civil Guard and Firefighters acted quickly to save the life of a man who was on one of the GC-1 viaducts.
Several members of various security and emergency forces acted on Sunday afternoon to rescue a man who intended to take his life on a GC-1 viaduct as it passed through Puerto Rico. Members of the SUC, the Gran Canaria Fire Consortium, the Civil Guard and the Mogán Local Police appeared at the scene to calm the situation and try to help him.
The action of a motorcyclist who was passing through the area of the incident was key, as he managed to get closer, buying time until the authorities arrived to carry out the operation.
Two firefighters helped the man by removing him from the viaduct and putting him safely on the road, which remained closed for several minutes until the operation was completed. The witnesses highlight the good work of the emergency and security personnel present at the scene.
After the rescue, the SUC transported him to a medical center.
