The judicial authorities of the south of Gran Canaria are investigating, following a complaint from the auditor of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council, the licenses for hotel renovations that Urban 2000 has carried out and that, according to what is on the company's website, It can generate a major scandal. Among others, the company carried out renovations to the Blackstone office in Las Palmas, to the El Churrasco restaurant in Tenerife, the facade repair in the group of 19 Guaydil III homes, for the Canario Housing Institute, the Cicca roof, the Corfarca or the Chivilcoy Building.
The accused Tirajana official should be Antonio S. R. The other three partners would be Ancor M., Cresencio G. and Marta T. Santana R.'s wife is Patricia L., sister of the wife of the former president of the CCE of Las Palmas, she is that is, sister-in-law of Agustín Manrique de Lara. The directors of Urban 2020 would have had interests in a company that went into bankruptcy and called Gedetec, which developed promotions in Tafira and El Cortijo, Telde.
According to data from Canarias 7, Justice is investigating the head of Development in the Urban Planning area of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council and his wife, "for allegedly expediting the permits for the works that he processed if the companies hired the services of the construction company of which his wife is one of the owners". The newspaper adds that in the opinion of the Prosecutor's Office "there is more than enough evidence to reach the conclusion that Antonio Juan SR offered favorable treatment to companies in the hotel sector that hired the services of the construction company Urban 2020, of which his wife held 25% of the shares. This company had the investigated Patricia LF as a partner, who in turn is the sole administrator of the company Sauria Société."
The events were reported in 2022 by the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office. In the pre-trial proceedings carried out by Anti-Corruption prosecutor Javier Ródenas, he took testimony from two witnesses who agreed to describe the alleged modus operandi of those investigated. The judicial authority is investigating numerous files from tourist complexes in the south of Gran Canaria, which had "deficient control of the ICIO tax" by the senior official.
