The Maspalomas International Carnival 2024 will be held from March 7 to 17
The corporation of the Villa de San Bartolomé de Tirajana held this Thursday the ordinary plenary session for the month of April, in which, among other matters, the new organization of the taxi sector in the municipality was approved, the dates were designated celebration of the Maspalomas carnival next year 2024, and the new water supply rates for the municipality have gone ahead.
New Taxi Regulations
Regarding the modification of the Taxi Regulations, it was agreed to eliminate all limitations, measurements and engine capacity, except that vehicles must have a trunk capacity of at least 330 liters. Likewise, the installation of tinted rear windows will be permitted, as long as they are officially approved.
The new Taxi Regulations will also allow glass roofs on vehicles that already come from the factory, while electric cars may have solar panels, always painting the frames in red.
Another of the approved measures is the implementation of advertising on the doors of the vehicles, fenders and sides of the rear bumpers. These inserts must have a fade from the beginning of the rear doors.
Modification of water rates
Regarding the modification of municipal water supply rates, the plenary agreed to reduce them by 2%, a measure from which private homes will benefit. As Mayor Conchi Narváez recalled during the plenary session, "we adopted this decision so as not to put more economic pressure on the residents of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, even though prices have not changed in a decade."
In this way, domestic rates drop by up to 15%, depending on the consumption levels in each home. These discounts apply to the consumption range of between 10 and 40 cubic meters of water.
The corporation also decided to give approval to the creation of the so-called Minimum Vital Social Rate, from which the most vulnerable family units can benefit. In those homes that do not consume more than 20 cubic meters of supply water per month, the rate will be free. For homes that exceed 20 cubic meters, €0,80/m3 will be applied.
Finally, the municipal plenary session set the date of celebration of the Maspalomas International Carnival 2024, between March 7 and 17.
