The leadership of the People's Party (PP) of Gran Canaria has agreed to designate Marcelino Díaz as candidate for mayor of Mogán for the upcoming local and regional elections to be held on May 28 , focusing his political proposal for the municipality on improving its infrastructure, attending to the residents and boosting the municipality's economy.

The candidate, who is 40 years old, was born and raised in Mogán, is a fan of soccer and technology. He has studies in Administration and Finance, Commerce and Marketing. Currently, he is business director at CaixaBank and manages the solar panel line. Additionally, he has been self-employed in the technology sector. He is an upright, humble and constant person who is characterized by his dedication to others.

“I hope that our candidacy will serve as an alternative for anyone tired of the current local government in Mogán, offering them a way to vote freely and without fear,” explains Marcelino Díaz, who is leading a renewal list in Mogán under difficult circumstances. The previous candidate resigned due to personal health issues, which prevented him from taking on the challenge of running as an alternative to the current municipal government, as he would have liked.

Díaz emphasizes the need "to put Mogán back on the map of Gran Canaria for positive reasons," while also stating that he has the knowledge and ideas necessary to achieve this. Regarding security, Marcelino advocates for the creation of new police positions so that Mogán can become a leader in this area, especially given its status as a major tourist hub in the Canary Islands.

“The candidate is also committed to creating a senior citizens' center in the municipality. “We must give back to our elders all the care they have given us ,” emphasizes Díaz, who is grateful for the trust that the People's Party of Gran Canaria has placed in him and his entire team to restore prosperity to Mogán, based on the values of work and freedom.

Despite the limited time and the widespread reluctance in Mogán to take a stand in defense of freedom of thought and political opinion, the People's Party (PP) is presenting a list headed by a young, principled individual, born and raised in Mogán, with a well-known family in the town center and along the beach. "This candidacy will offer anyone tired of the current local government in Mogán a free and fearless alternative," concludes the PP candidate.
