Marco Aurelio Pérez Sánchez announced this Friday the main lines of the government program that he will develop as mayor of San Bartolomé de Tirajana during the legislature from 2023 to 2027. The PP-AV candidate guarantees the recovery of the serious, rigorous and responsible political management that The City Council has lost with the quadripartite pact of the last four years.

 

“I believe that the municipality as a whole needs to get serious and be much more responsible. We need to stand up for ourselves and give the members of the four-party coalition a piece of our minds, showing them that things can be done right. We need to reclaim the value of our vote, because it’s clear that no resident who loves and defends San Bartolomé de Tirajana can allow the municipality’s image and quality of life to continue being damaged and deteriorated,” he stated.

 

PP-AV defends a municipal project based on the four economic sectors that provide work and well-being: agriculture, fishing, tourism and commerce, and guarantees a government program designed to care for and serve people and improve their quality. of life, “Our work team is prepared. Seniors and social 

 

Among the projects that PP-AV proposes in the social area, the construction of the senior residence equipped with permanent stay services, a day center and an Alzheimer's center stand out; the renovation of playgrounds with a conservation, maintenance and safety plan; the launch of the Castillo del Romeral nursery school; the expansion of the Meloneras Hospital to increase the number of inpatient beds and provide the municipality with the medical and health specialty service it needs; expand student scholarships and promote the construction of the new El Tablero Baccalaureate and Vocational Training Institute.

 

Employment and housing

 

In the area of ​​housing, the promotion of a Comprehensive Municipal Housing Plan stands out, which will include the promotion of land, a census of rental housing and the construction of public housing with a specific purchase option program for young people. The first development will be 54 homes in the Lomo de Maspalomas. In terms of employment, PP-AV plans to encourage training programs, create the municipal employment pool and agreements with other administrations, and support paid internships in municipal public services with a subsidized first job contract for young people. Services

 

Marco Aurelio Pérez's government project includes a Neighborhood Plan for the area of ​​municipal services to cover neighborhood demands for cleaning, lighting, paving and green areas; the development of a Comprehensive Rehabilitation Plan and maintenance of sports, cultural, civic and social facilities; the start-up of the El Tablero public car park and the provision of car parks in Fataga, Tunte and San Fernando, and outsourcing the public lighting service with a contract that will include its maintenance.

 

Sports

 

In the area of ​​Sports, PP-AV proposes the creation of the Sports City in San Fernando, with a new and modern multidisciplinary pavilion; a Renovation Plan for all sports facilities (pavilions, soccer fields and fields); recover the Maspalomas Stadium; increase the sports subsidy plan and provide the Maspalomas Sports City with bathrooms and shaded areas.

 

Tourism

 

In terms of tourism, Marco Aurelio Pérez's work plan includes the adaptation of the Maspalomas Ravine as an environmental area for walking, leisure and sports; the renewal of the entire Annex II environment; the completion of the municipality's promenades and seafronts and the improvement of the accessibility and services of all beaches; expand leisure, culture and sports proposals throughout the year as a complementary tourist offer; promote and undertake modernization and improvement plans (PMM) to continue with the renewal of obsolete tourist infrastructure, especially the shopping centers of Playa del Inglés; dedicate the Consortium to the renewal of public infrastructure in the tourist area and strengthen the Municipal Tourism Council as an advisory forum for tourism decisions and promotional actions.

 

 

Development

 

In the areas of urban and local development, Marco Aurelio Pérez's government program includes the construction of new municipal offices in Campo Internacional next to the Treasury; the construction of a Municipal Fairgrounds; the approval of the General Plan and the regularization of the partial plans for Montaña La Data and El Salobre; promote the expansion of the El Lomo de Maspalomas-Tunte highway and continue fighting for the connection of Lomo de Pedro Afonso with Cercados de Araña; rearrange access to the El Veril area to provide it with parking and create a green lung in Las Burras; a Development Plan for the Medians, with improvement of agricultural roads, commercial revitalization and creation of the Camino de Santiago pilgrim hostel; build the GC-500 boulevard to Viuda de Franco with access roundabout towards Avda. de Gáldar; expand the Southern Urban Park towards the hillside with rest areas and viewpoints and with pedestrian connections to Sonnenland and the Los Olivos Urbanization and, among others, promote the Municipal Beautification Plan for the burying of all overhead cables.

 

Culture 

 

Regarding the areas of culture and events, Marco Aurelio Pérez proposes to build a new cultural center in San Fernando equipped with a large auditorium in good condition; acquire the old Los Jorge warehouse in El Tablero to convert it into the La Zafra Municipal Museum; rehabilitate the Casa del Mato or del Estanque as an ethnographic center; create the Multidisciplinary Center for the Arts and promote the Municipal Schools of music, performing and visual arts, and plastic arts; recover the cultural competitions of painting, literature, comics, theater and cinema, and encourage new mural and urban art initiatives; recover the Day Carnival on the beach and other events such as Flavors of the World or the New Year's Concert at the Mirador de Las Dunas.

 

Sustainability

 

Regarding the municipality's environmental sustainability project, Marco Aurelio Pérez announced the creation of a project development office and public subsidies to promote the installation of solar panels, the creation of solar and photovoltaic parks aimed at ensuring that all the energy consumption of the centers and public spaces are renewable; the creation of a public charging network for electric and hydrogen vehicles at affordable and competitive prices; the creation of energy neighborhood communities aimed at lowering electricity prices through self-production and energy efficiency; the creation of urban forests and green corridors; the implementation of urban gardens under public and neighborhood management; the recovery of degraded and abandoned spaces to create urban and forest parks and, among others, promoting 100% selective urban collection to create compost creation points with the remains of domestic and hotel kitchens, which will be used for urban gardens and creation of ecological gardens.

 

Lower IBI

 

The PP-AV candidate announced as the most immediate economic measure of his government a reduction in taxes, specifically the Real Estate Tax (IBI) by 15%. “At the time, during times of restrictions, we lowered the vehicle circulation tax and also the IBI. And we want to do it again. The socialists have raised the IBI again without us realizing it, changing the cadastral value for the so-called reference value. We will reverse that increase,” he explained.

 

 

Marco Aurelio Pérez concluded the event by pointing out that each and every one of the government proposals that he proposes “are possible and necessary to advance the creation of the municipality that we all want, but it requires firmness, seriousness, commitment and a great desire to work. It depends on each and every one of the neighbors that this common and general objective is met,” he stated.
