The XXXI edition of Maspalomas Summer University will offer, from June 26 to July 21, more than 25 courses and workshops, a children's Campus, guided visits to archaeological sites, nighttime astronomical observations, tastings, sports activities on the beaches , a trip to Galicia, in addition to the celebration of the Rotary International CAMP, a Conference on Astronomy and the celebration of three international music festivals.
The dean of the Canary Islands summer university is organized by the City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the Cabildo of Gran Canaria. The poster for this edition has as its protagonist the image of the Arteara Necropolis, located in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, on the 50th anniversary of the declaration as BIC.
In addition, prominent and relevant figures in different fields will participate in this edition, such as the writer Carlos Taibo; the Cuban author Karla Suárez; the journalist José Manuel Fajardo; the professor of Physiology and Biotechnology of Marine Plants and former rector of the ULPGC, Rafael Robaina; the graduate in Philosophy, playwright and performer of the Revolotearte Company and National Agriculture Award winner, Ana Torres, and the judge of the Supreme Court and president of the Second Criminal Chamber, Manuel Marchena, who will participate in the national conference organized, for the second consecutive year, by the Social Council of the ULPGC.
