The south of Gran Canaria votes this Sunday, May 28, in regional and municipal elections in which the city council, the Cabildo of Gran Canaria and the Parliament of the Canary Islands will be renewed. The residents of the south of the island have the right to vote in elections for which the schools in the southern region have been set up.
The Tirajaneros will elect a total of 25 councilors, 29 island councilors and 15 island deputies. The day started without incident at 9:00 a.m. with the opening of the polling stations, which will remain open until 20:00 p.m. In Mógán, results are expected around midnight. Local political leaders and candidates from the main parties have gone to vote and have encouraged citizens to participate en masse with the purpose of “consolidating” and “reinforcing” democracy.
