The Mogán City Council, located on the island of Gran Canaria, has a total of 21 councilors. These councilors represent different political parties and are elected by citizens in municipal elections, which are held every four years.
In 2019 there were 34.467 voters and in 2015 there were 33.647. Participation in 2015 was 69% in 2019. In 2019 Ciuca had 4.334 votes with 54,89 of the votes and 10 councilors. PP had 2.317 votes, 29,34 of the voters and had 5, losing 3. NC-FA had 401 votes with 5,08 of the votes and 1 councilors. PSOE had 629 votes, 7,97% and 1 councilor. Citizens 168, 2,13% and zero councilors.
Mogán is another of the tourist municipalities that receives the most visits in Gran Canaria. It is located 93 kilometers away from the capital, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Its area is 172,44 square kilometers, which makes it the second largest on the island. It is located 22 meters above sea level, reaching higher levels in the interior of the municipality, in the Sándara Mountain (1.583 meters).
This municipality has the largest dam on the Island: the Soria Dam, 18 kilometers from the town of Mogán. Its vegetation is mainly made up of cardonales and tabaibales, endemic plants of the Island, although the municipality also has green peaks with a significant mass of Canarian pine forest, oases of Canarian palm trees and exotic fruit trees.
