The Villa de Santa Lucía is a municipality with great commercial activity, favored by the growth of its population. Thus, the Vecindario area is one of the most important commercial references on the Island.
A large part of the municipality borders the sea. However, on its entire coast it only has a single beach that is considered unbeatable for windsurfing, Pozo Izquierdo; chosen as one of the main venues for the annual world windsurfing championship, where the International Windsurfing Center is also located.
On the southeast coast are located the three most important urban centers of the municipality of Santa Lucía, due to their great commercial and industrial development: Vecindario, (where its popular market takes place every Wednesday), Sardina del Sur and El Doctoral.
