Canarian Coalition (7) and Socialist Party (6) reached a number of councilors this weekend to form a government, although these mathematics are pure illusions because, for the moment, they are oil and water. But the leader of NC in the Parliament of the Canary Islands, Román Rodríguez, has disappeared and both groups can reach an agreement via the promotion of the local leader, Samuel Henríquez, to a position of responsibility in the Cabildo of Gran Canaria.
AV-PP and CC would add 14 and, according to the forecasts launched by the leader of the Canary Coalition, Fernando Clavijo, the preferential option to form a government on the islands would involve an agreement with the PP. Can there be an AV-PP pact with the PSOE? The socialists prefer this option but it depends on how the areas of power are distributed in the Cabildo of Gran Canaria and in the Government of the Canary Islands, where PP would enter regional power with CC. But an alliance with PSOE contradicts CC and PP agreements in the Canary Islands.
PP-AV has obtained 7 councilors with 5.312 compared to 5.123, 26,57% (down 0,71%). CC has grown by 91,02% and obtained 7 councilors by obtaining 4.720 votes compared to 2.368. The PSOE has dropped -18,39% and obtained 6 councilors with 3.992 compared to 4.686 votes.
The PSOE has been the one that has fallen the most, remaining with one less councilor. The socialists have been punished for kicking CC out of local government. CC eats votes for AV-PP and PSOE but not for Nueva Canarias, which remains at 5 councilors. With the latest data scrutinized, in San Bartolomé de Tirajana a participation of 57,67 has been registered and a total of 20.191 votes counted.
