Yurena Tejera Cruz tells Maspalomas24h the reasons that have pushed her to hand in her councilor's certificate in the government group in San Bartolomé de Tirajana
“Any path I took was going to break my heart,” is how Yurena Tejera Cruz told us how complicated it was to make the decision to hand in her certificate as councilor after the 28M election results. Yurena, who has been linked to PP-AV for years, was with her colleagues at the signing of the pact between Marco Aurelio and Alejandro Marichal to form a government team.
Currently, Yurena works as director at the CEIP Pepe Monagas public center, in El Tablero, a position that occupies all of her attention and that, as she states, “right now it is incompatible to exercise both functions.” At the time, she had the opportunity of taking charge of the Department of Social Services, Drug Addiction and Solidarity, an experience that he assures “captivated him”
Yurena states that she is very sorry for having to make this decision, but assures that she must complete many projects in the educational center that she has started together with the teaching team, center staff, students and families. “I will always be working for and for the neighbors in educational matters, in social matters and defending the interests of the municipality together with my mayor, Marco Aurelio Pérez, and my team that will always be PP-AV,” she says.
Araceli Armas Cruz, number 8 on the PP-AV list, will replace Yurena in the government group.
