The deployment plan for Telefónica Spain's new generation network approved by the Mogán City Council continues to advance and from this moment the fiber optic service is available to the residents of the Veneguera neighborhood.
“A lot of work has been done so that all residents make a decisive commitment to this service and authorize the passage of fiber through their homes,” says the mayor of Mogán, Onalia Bueno, who thanks the residents “for their understanding and decision to allow the deployment to Telefónica because this way the work has gone much faster.”
For Bueno, the greatest beneficiaries of the arrival of fiber optics in Veneguera are the boys and girls. “In the middle-class neighborhoods there is a significant group of minors who really need this service to access digital tools and with them carry out class work, among others,” he points out.
For her part, the Councilor for Tourism, Alba Medina, reports that the disengagement plan is already in its final phase in the Playa de Mogán neighborhood, so it will soon be added to the list of those that have fiber optics. “In Playa de Mogán the arrival has been delayed due to the landslide in the La Puntilla area, since the channeling was going to be carried out there. We have had to look for other alternatives for this nucleus and we are already very close,” she says.
Both the mayor and the councilor consider fiber optics a service that has become essential for daily life, especially for children and young people as well as for tourist areas, where there is a great demand by those who choose Mogán. as a destination and by tour operators.
Bueno states that from the City Council "we are quite persevering with Telefónica Spain so that the financing from the State for the disconnection of the new generation network is channeled in the municipality until the specific nuclei or homes that are still pending are completed."
