The Patron Saint Festivities of San Antonio El Chico face their second weekend in Mogán with activities for the whole family. Among these is the Bajada de la Rama, a craft market with musical performances such as Aseres, Los 600 and Los Salvapantallas and a Young Concert with La Pantera. In the municipality it will be a holiday on both Monday the 12th and Tuesday the 13th, the Day of San Antonio de Padua, dates on which activities are expected such as the playground with inflatable aquatics, the Social Security concert or the mass and procession in honor of the Patron Saint. .
Since these celebrations started last Friday, June 2, the historic center of the municipality has experienced intense activity that residents of all ages have been able to enjoy. After the proclamation by businessman Juan Díaz Quintana, the play 'What laughter hides', the podenco competition-exhibition, zanga and domino tournaments, sports exhibitions and the Song Festival of the Mogán Artistic Schools.
This afternoon it will be the turn of the hifi stopover gala, the presentation of the guided cultural walk of the Church of San Antonio de Padua and the tribute concert to El Último de la Fila, culminating the evening with a festival by Star Music and Young Fury.
It will be on Saturday, June 10, starting at 10:00 a.m., when the first of the two days of the craft market that will be installed on San José Street begins – closed to traffic from June 9 to 13, both inclusive, for the development of the acts. This day, Moganero Alberto Déniz will liven up the day, while on Sunday the 11th, also during the time that the market is scheduled – from 10:00 a.m. to 19:00 p.m. – Fran Baraja, Aseres, Los 600 and Los Salvapantallas will perform.
It will be on Saturday the 10th, starting at 18:00 p.m., when the excitement runs through the streets of the town with the Bajada de La Rama, which will feature the Banda de Agaete and the Charanga La Aldea. A festival will then be held with Grupo Arena, La Mekanica by Tamarindos and DJ Álvaro Rodríguez.
On Sunday, in addition to the craft market set with concerts by Aseres, Los 600 and Los Salvapantallas, there will be children's workshops and traditional games in Plaza Sarmiento y Coto. The day will conclude to the rhythm of urban artist La Pantera, DJ Sammyto and DJ Aitor Cruz.
On Monday, June 12, a holiday in the municipality, the activity will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a large inflatable water park and foam party on San José Street and Sarmiento y Coto Square. Well into the night, around 22:15 p.m., the concert by the renowned Spanish group Seguridad Social will begin. When the clock strikes 00:00, the fireworks display will announce the arrival of Saint Anthony of Padua Day. But first, the traditional dawn festival will be held, which this year will feature Armonía Show, DJ Maxi and Leyenda Joven.
This edition of the Patron Saint Festivities of San Antonio El Chico will culminate on Tuesday the 13th with the mass in honor of the patron saint, which will begin at 11:00 a.m., and the subsequent procession through the streets of the town. As is tradition, those present will sing the Song of the Little Birds, and the bread and lilies will be blessed.
The End of the Holidays Gala will be at 19:00 p.m. at the El Mocán Cultural Center with performances by the San Antonio Theater Club and the Mogán Occupational Center.
