DER Touristik has finally chosen the island of Fuerteventura to host more than 400 Olympic athletes who will travel to Fuerteventura this year to carry out training at the Playitas Resort sports complex, of which it is the owner, ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The visit of the Olympic athletes occurs because the Playitas Resort sports complex has once again renewed the agreement it has had since 2013 with the Swedish Olympic Committee (SOK). In this way, Fuerteventura continues to gain space in a market like the Nordic one, always in the south of the island.
Although they will travel in different groups and dates, it will be in November 2023 when 350 athletes will carry out their last training camp before participating in the Games. Since 2013, Playitas Resort has been the headquarters of the Swedish Olympians and since then countless Olympians have trained each year at the Resort. Playitas Resort offers 30 different sports and fitness activities for everyone who wants to get in shape, stay in shape or prepare for a sporting event.
Playitas-Resort has a heated Olympic swimming pool, a bicycle center equipped with state-of-the-art road and mountain bikes, 5 tennis courts, 4 paddle tennis courts, 2 multi-tracks, a climbing wall with 5 levels of difficulty, a boxing ring, covered room, 700m² gym, outdoor fitness park and 18-hole golf course. The hotel has 167 double rooms, 52 junior suites and 4 suites with private pool.
