The new corporation was established this Saturday with 9 councilors from Fórum Drago-NC and 4 from Somos-PP in the municipal government group
José López Fabelo has been elected the new mayor of Villa de Ingenio after obtaining 13 of the 11 necessary votes from the new municipal corporation, established in the Corporate Plenary held in an extraordinary session on the morning of Saturday, June 17.
The plenary session began with the words of the municipal secretary reporting the official result of the elections of last March 28 to then give way to the constitution of the Age Table, made up of the oldest councilor, Rosario Viera (Somos-PP) and younger, Adrián Yeray Ramírez (Fórum Drago-NC). Subsequently, each of the 21 elected councilors were called to take the oath or promise of their position, including the two already mentioned, starting with the formations with the greatest representation. This is how José López, Vanesa Martín, Francisco Javier Espino, Catalina Sánchez, Almudena Isabel Hernández, Fátima Méndez, Rubén Domingo López and Martín Manuel García passed through the lectern, through Fórum Drago-NC; by the PSOE Ana Hernández, Elena Suárez, Domingo Rodríguez, Victoria Santana and Ramón Tejera; by Somos-PP Rayco Padilla, Sebastián Suárez and Alejandra Rodríguez; by Agrupa Sureste Minerva Artiles; for VOX Antonio Ríos Santana and for the Canarian Coalition, Lucrecio Suárez.
After the municipal corporation was validly constituted, the second part of the session began: the election, by the 21 councilors, of the mayor from among the various candidates at the top of the list. The vote, carried out in a sealed envelope, gave the majority to José López (13 votes) followed by Ana Hernández (5), while Lucrecio Suárez, Antonio Ríos Santana and Minerva Artiles achieved one vote each. Thus, the government pact recently signed between Fórum Drago-NC and Somos PP materialized, supporting the group headed by Rayco Padilla, the new mayor.
The third part of the event consisted of the acceptance and oath/promise of the position of mayor-president of the City Council of Ingenio de José López, the symbolic delivery of the baton by the outgoing mayor, Ana Hernández, and the signing of the minutes of tonnage.
The session continued with the speeches of the different spokespersons, congratulating the new corporation, the voters who went to the polls and showing their commitment to working for the good of the citizens of Ingenia.
Finally, the mayor, José López, took the floor, showing the willingness of the new government group to listen to the neighbors, being “at street level, in every corner of the municipality, governing for everyone without distinction.” nor privileges” and with the objective of “recovering the lost trust and pride of belonging.” He reviewed the pending challenges they face, their priority projects “which are not pharaonic works but rather solving simple day-to-day problems, which is what you have been demanding of us,” he said, to continue with words towards his team “enthusiastic and eager young people”. He concluded with a more personal part, with words of gratitude towards his family and people important to him, with a parallel between the love towards his daughters and towards the municipality, “that we do not have to change, but rather improve”, saying goodbye remembering “ two great women in the history of this municipality: the Virgin of Candelaria and the Virgin of Buen Suceso.”
The event closed with the official photo of the new corporation of Villa de Ingenio.
